Materials We'll meet your lining and coating requirements or specifications. Between our technical staff and an extensive network of experts, Goodwest can provide you with the most up-to-date corrosion and abrasion protection. Below is a list of various materials we commonly apply. Please click on the individual material for more information or Contact us now with an inquiry.
Rubber linings offer superior abrasion resistance and are engineered for excellent resistance to a wide variety of acids and other chemicals. The sheer thickness of a rubber lining provides years of extra protection and its flexibility is another key attribute. Rubber linings are hand applied in sheets and vulcanized by steam. Natural
Rubber: Linings range from soft, pure-gum rubber to rock-hard, graphite reinforced rubber. Offers best abrasion resistance of all elastomers. Superior resistance to Hydrochloric Acid, Ferric and Ferrous Chloride, and other chemicals Chlorobutyl: Highly impermeable and resistant to a wide range of chemicals including phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, and bleach. Excellent temperature and ozone resistance. Widely used in severe hi-temperature environments. Neoprene: Excellent saltwater and sunlight resistance. Original neoprene linings in ocean-water cool-down pipelines at nuclear power plants have lasted for decades. Neoprene also offers better resistance to some solvents and hydrocarbons. Hypalon: Superior overall chemical resistance. Hypalon is used in the most extreme environments. Buna-Nitrile: Superior hydrocarbon resistance. A seamless, spray-applied membrane that can be applied to concrete, asphalt, steel, earth, or wood. It conforms to surface irregularities and bridges gaps to provide a pinhole-free, abrasion and chemical resistant lining with excellent adhesion. Elastomeric Polyurethane is solvent-free and contains 100% solids, eliminating fire hazards and harmful solvent fumes during application. Lining thickness can exceed 250 mils in one coat without the risk of sagging or solvent-entrapment. It is applied only with plural component equipment designed to pump, heat, proportion, and mix the multi-component materials correctly. A key application advantage is that it's dry to the touch in minutes and fully cured in a day. Elastomeric Polyurethane is widely used for sewage basins, secondary containment, waste and potable water treatment, concrete rehabilitation, water conveyance, etc. FUSION BONDED EPOXY / POWDER COATING A one part,
heat curable, thermosetting epoxy coating designed for corrosion protection
of metal. Fusion Bonded Epoxy Powder Coating is solvent-free and applied
to pre-heated steel as a dry powder which melts and cures to a uniform
coating thickness. Its high adhesion and toughness withstand abuse in
the field while the extremely smooth finish allows for easy visual inspection.
